Every year Medical Ambassadors Philippines Inc. is conducting a medical mission exposure trip that aims to mobilize leaders from medical and non-medical professionals and students. The goal of Operation Samaria (OS) is to immerse volunteers in cross-cultural missions and bless the community through health services, health education, and vacation bible school for children.
This year’s theme was Cross Over with a key verse from John 5:24, “…they have already crossed over from death to life.” Operation Samaria was held in Sitio Mungos, Bgy. Hagan, Bongabong Oriental Mindoro and Sitio Safa, Bgy. Sabang, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro. (more…)

Discoveries in the Field

Millions of Filipinos lack access to basic care for many reasons. One crucial constraint is the out of pocket payment which takes up the largest share of the total health expenditure. Thus, medical and surgical missions conducted by charity organizations plays an important role in the health financing system in the Philippines. As a medical practitioner, I admire what these organizations do and for that reason I value the opportunities and experiences I had serving those marginalized by the health system through these missions. Most importantly sharing my profession to those that are heavily in need of it gives me an extraordinary kind of fulfillment as I am now part of a bigger cause. (more…)

OVERFLOW 2015: A Christmas Gift-giving to the Tribes

Typhoon Lando Relief Operation

“Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor”.
After the Devastating effect of Typhoon Lando in Aurora Province, Medical Ambassadors Philippines (MAP) and Care Caravan committed to pray and extended relief distribution to Sitio Singawan, Umiray Aurora, MAP’s ministry area for 3 years now. 1100 food packs were provided by Care Caravan, MAP staff delivered and distributed goods. Also, there were clothes and packs of rice donated by Mrs. Jo Solis Soberano, MAP’s BOT Secretary and Mrs. Adoracion Darlucio, former MAP Staff. Vice Mayor of Dingalan provided us a closed van to transport the relief goods from Manila to Umiray.

To our families, friends, church-mates, co-workers, our hosts in the area, and  MAP partners locally and abroad, thank you so much for your prayers, emotional support, financial provisions, relief goods, and medicines so that the medical-surgical emergency activities , relief goods, school supplies and carpentry tool distribution were done very successful.
The teams were physically exhausted yet the blessings of peace, joy and transcending love of Jesus Christ were demonstrated, experienced, and felt by the survivors. It was worth it all.
